Understanding Clear Polypropylene Labels
Transparent self-adhesive labels manufactured on polypropylene material, designed to give a clean, no-label appearance on product packaging. The clear substrate allows the label to blend into the surface it is applied to, making the printed information appear to float directly on the packaging.
Material and Print Method
Clear polypropylene is a synthetic, waterproof material that resists tearing, moisture, and general handling. These labels are printed using thermal transfer, requiring a compatible thermal transfer ribbon to produce a legible print on the transparent surface. Direct thermal printing is not compatible with polypropylene label stock.
Applications
Clear polypropylene labels are widely used in cosmetics and personal care for a premium, transparent finish on bottles and tubes, food and beverage for a clean look on glass jars and bottles, and general product identification where a white paper label would detract from the packaging design.
Adhesive and Durability
All clear polypropylene labels use permanent adhesive, adhering securely to glass, plastic, and metal surfaces. The polypropylene material resists condensation, making these labels suitable for refrigerated products and bottled drinks where paper labels would absorb moisture and lift at the edges.
